Calls and Events of the EJP Rare Diseases

30 January 2020 – The European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases (EJP RD) published several calls for proposals and two announcements for networking and training events on different topics in the area of rare diseases.

Joint Transnational Call (JTC) 2020: The JTC 2020 will fund transnational collaborative projects on “Pre-clinical research to develop effective therapies for rare diseases“. The deadline for registration and submission of pre-proposals is 18 February 2020.

Networking Support Scheme (NSS): The NSS offers financial support for the organization of networking events. Applicants can apply for a budget of a maximum of 30,000 EUR per event to organise a transnational European/international event to share and disseminate knowledge on rare diseases or rare cancers. The call is open on a continuous basis.

Clinical Trials Methodology Demonstration Projects: This call for demonstration projects aims to show the usability and capability of  innovative statistical methodologies for clinical trials in rare diseases, which have not been demonstrated on existing data for specific rare disease clinical trials yet. This is an internal call, i.e. only organisations that are already involved in the EJP RD are eligible to apply. You can verify whether your institution is a partner of the EJP RD here. The call will presumably open on 1 February 2020.

Rare Diseases Research (RDR) Challenges Call & Networking Event: The RDR Challenges Call is aimed to facilitate and fund collaborations between industry, academia, SMEs, and patient organizations to solve specific research challenges in rare diseases. The call will presumably be launched in March 2020. In order to initiate exchanges and/or formation of collaborative consortia of applicants to the call, a Networking Event will take place on 3 March 2020 in Paris (registration deadline: 31 January 2020).
