The Flemish government of Belgium joins ICPerMed

4 January 2021 – ICPerMed welcomes the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation of the Flemish government (EWI Department) as its new member.

The EWI Department prepares, monitors and evaluates policy in the Economy, Science and Innovation policy area. Personalised medicine was identified as a priority domain that is expected to induce a transformation of healthcare systems while boosting R&I. To support the development of personalised medicine, the EWI department engages in pan-European projects, such as SAPHIRe (securing adoption of personalised health in regions), S3P4PM (smart specialisation partnership for personalised medicine), and MicrobiomeSupport (towards coordinated microbiome R&I activities in the food system to support EU and international bioeconomy goals), and is developing regional initiatives to accelerate the developments.

ICPerMed's contact person at the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation of the Flemish government is Kathleen D’Hondt.
