ICPerMed Training Event “Personalised Medicine Research: Key issues”

20 October 2021 – ICPerMed is happy to announce the 1st “ICPerMed Training – Personalised Medicine Research: Key issues” on 1-2 December 2021 (two half days). The target group of the training are actors (including researchers and practioners) worldwide at the very beginning of their careers, with a reliable interest in personalised medicine (PM). About 40 applicants will be selected to participate in the free-of-charge online training with English as training language.

The importance of PM to cure the human being is becoming evident. This training will enable participants to improve the personal perspective and convey the fundaments to understand the complexity of PM for the establishment of new research settings. The focus of this training will be around PM research projects and will tackle ethical, legal, social and genetic aspects, including:

  • ethical assessments for genome sequencing used more and more to predict, treat and manage diseases,
  • legal aspects, such as the right to privacy for patient or the informed consent how to collect accurately data for research purposes, and
  • leverage of best research to translate PM into clinical practice and the society by involving policy makers.

Together with experts in PM, definitions, policies and guidelines will be presented, while practical examples will give the opportunity for all participants to actively engage with the most relevant issues. In this two-day training, participants will gain knowledge in key aspects of PM research, gain new skills and develop synergies.
This online training is one of several activities of ICPerMed in order to support research and implementation of PM in Europe and beyond.
