The CSA EU-Africa PerMed is launching a series of online webinars on “Personalised Medicine Ethics and Regulations in Africa – From Principles to Practice”
The series of webinars is jointly organised by the EU-Africa PerMed Consortium and IRESSEF with the assistance of EDCTP with the purpose to bring together members of ethical and regulatory bodies and other stakeholders based in Africa to discuss challenges that the governance of PM triggers from ethical principle and regulation perspectives.
The first webinar will take place on Thursday, 29 September 2022, 1:00 am (UTC).
The moderators are Prof. Souleymane Mboup (IRESSEF, Sénégal) and Prof. Patrice Debre (Academy of Medicine, France).
Speakers:
- Pr. Rokhaya Ndiaye Diallo (UCAD, Senegal) introducing the concept of PM & its potential for improving global health.
- Dr. Badara Cisse (IRESSEF, Senegal) presenting the landscape of PM in Africa.
- Dr. Jean-Baptiste Mazarati (Ethics Committee, Rwanda ) sharing his experience on how to approach PM in ethical committees and regulatory bodies and discuss main ethical challenges of PM in African countries.
