FIOCRUZ is a public and strategic institution of Health Science under the Brazilian Ministry of Health which aims at promoting health and social development, generating and disseminating scientific and technological knowledge and being an agent of citizenship. The Foundation is installed in ten Brazilian states. Altogether, there are 16 scientific and technical units, focused on teaching, research, innovation, assistance, technological development and extension in the health field.
FIOCRUZ is the first Latinamerican organisation to join ICPerMed. This is a big step towards ICPerMed’s internationalisation, which is an important aim of ICPerMed in order to align research and funding activities on an international level.
