ICPerMed Conference 'Personalised Medicine in Action' – Registration open

7 June 2018 – The registration of the first conference 'Personalised Medicine in Action' of the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed) is now open. The conference will take place in Berlin, Germany, on November 20-21 and will focus on best practice examples for successful implementation of personalised medicine approaches. The preliminary programme is also available now.

The ICPerMed conference 'Personalised Medicine in Action' is organised by the ICPerMed and is supported by the European Commission, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German Federal Ministry of Health.

An opening statement will be given by Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission. Best practice sessions on research and implementation will give successful examples for translation of personalised medicine research into an added value for the patient. This will be done in a comprehensive approach, giving room for representatives of all relevant steps to describe their views and experiences, e.g. researchers, clinicians, payers, patients. Further sessions will encompass examples for policy making and impact analysis on personalised medicine research from the ICPerMed member states. For a broader perspective, these best practice examples will be complemented by high-level key note talks on different aspects of personalised medicine. Confirmed speakers can be taken from the preliminary programme.

In addition, the three winners of the first ICPerMed 'Best Practice in Personalised Medicine' Award will present their results during a plenary session and the four proposals in fourth position have been invited to present a poster of their work. The Award aims to recognise, encourage, promote and disseminate outstanding examples of best practices in personalised medicine.

ICPerMed provides a platform to initiate and support communication and exchange on personalised medicine research, funding and implementation. ICPerMed assembles over 35 European and international partners representing ministries, funding agencies and the European Commission. With the support of the ICPerMed Secretariat, the consortium works on coordinating and supporting research to develop approaches for personalised medicine. Thereby, the central aim of ICPerMed is to align and encourage joint efforts in personalised medicine research and implementation on a European and international level. The ICPerMed Secretariat is coordinated by partners from France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
