EP PerMed Information Event – Presentations online

11 June 2021 – The virtual Information Event "European Partnership for Personalised Medicine (EP PerMed) calling for national and regional involvement" organised by ICPerMed and ERA PerMed took place on May 31, 2021.

Aim of the information day was to inform about ICPerMed and ERA PerMed's proposal for the EP PerMed, its objectives, activities and expected impacts and to engage with national and regional authorities, funders and stakeholders interested in promoting and implementing personalised medicine approaches in their countries and regions for the benefit of patients and citizens.

The ICPerMed and ERA PerMed “Preparatory Group”, comprising of four representatives of each initiative, views the event as a great success because the interest in EP PerMed of the community was very high with over 200 participants from 22 different countries discussing the opportunities and perspectives of the EP PerMed.

Beside the EP PerMed draft concept paper and the EP PerMed Guide key aspects of the EP PerMed such as the target groups, the involvement of regions, industry and international partners as well as joint funding opportunities and the establishment of national hubs have been considered.

With this event, ICPerMed and ERA PerMed provided informations on the EP PerMed preparations and recommendations for regional/national organisations in preparation of the European Partnership, to foster participation of interested organisations in the EP PerMed and help organising the baselines for preparations on the regional and national level to mobilise the national budget commitments and receive stakeholder input for the creation of the partnership.

The presentations of the event are now available for download.

The presented EP PerMed draft concept paper, Guide and Information Sheets on key aspects are the result of ICPerMed/ERA PerMed reflections on EP PerMed aspects. The concept, legal and financial frameworks for the EP PerMed are still under development (e.g. governance, partner/member/stakeholder rules for participation, etc.), and the Guidelines and Information Sheets will be adapted in the future to integrate and outline such technical aspects when relevant. All documents received valuable input from the European Commission (EC) but do not represent official EC documents.
