At the meeting, the Executive Committee approved of the three winners of the ICPerMed Award 2018 and agreed on writing a statement concerning the 1 Million Genomes Declaration, which is now available on the ICPerMed website. The Committee further agreed on the overall concept of the next ICPerMed Workshop to be “Citizens, patients and implementation”. The Workshop will take place in Madrid in the last quarter of 2019.
The meeting was complemented by two high-level guest speakers who gave very interesting talks:
- Prof. Dr. Julia Stingl from the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices in Germany talked about outcome definition and regulatory-motivated research in a European Big data sharing project (HARMONY).
- Prof. Andre Dekker from Maastricht University in the Netherlands gave an overview on health research infrastructures for personalised medicine with dos and don’ts from experience in the Netherlands.
