15 December 2020 – The ERA-NET ERA PerMed has launched the fourth Joint Transnational Call for multidisciplinary research projects on Personalised Medicine. With this call ERA PerMed wants to align national research strategies, promote excellence, reinforce the competitiveness of European players in Personalised Medicine, and enhance the European collaboration with non-EU countries.

Brazilian Agency CNPq joins ICPerMed

13 November 2020 – ICPerMed welcomes CNPq as observer. CNPq is the largest Federal Research Funding Agency of Brazil, operating also via a partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Health which has recently started the Brazilian National Program of Genomic and Precision Health, Genomas Brasil.

SAPHIRe Workshop: Making data usable

12 November 2020 – EU citizens have the right to access healthcare in any EU country and to be reimbursed for care abroad by their home country. To realise this right, the appropriate infrastructures and standards should be created. Regional providers of health data, such as (university or regional) hospitals, first line healthcare or genetic centres, collect massive amounts of health data. This creates a large need for interoperable and accessible data.

Best Practice Example: 2025 France Genomic Medicine Initiative

3 November 2020 – Genomic medicine is profoundly changing patient care. Routine genome sequencing will enable a high number of patients to benefit from more personalised diagnostics and personalised therapeutic care. This includes rare diseases and cancer but also more common diseases (e.g. metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological diseases).

ICPerMed conference Personalised Medicine – programme released

2 November 2020 – The preliminary programme for the ICPerMed conference "Personlised Medicine – From Vision to Practice" is now available. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the second ICPerMed Conference, initially scheduled for October 15-16, 2020, will now take place in February 25-26, 2021 in Paris at La Maison de la Chimie.

Update on European Partnership on Personalised Medicine

2 November 2020 – In preparation of the European Commission’s member states consultation for the co-funded European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, taking place most probably at the end of 2020 or beginning of 2021, ICPerMed together with ERA PerMed developed a supporting document in form of a concept paper that was officially passed on to the European Commission on October 13, 2020.

2 November 2020 – ICPerMed is glad to announce that Ejner Moltzen from Innovation Fund Denmark has been elected new chair of the ICPerMed Executive Committee and Hemma Bauer from the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in Austria has been elected new vice chair of the ICPerMed Executive Committee.

The series starts on 20 October and explores the concept of personalised care and the role of digital technology in delivering these services. Pre-Announcement JTC 2021

14 October 2020 – ERA-PerMed will launch its new call with a budget of approximately 16 million euros on December 14th 2020. Pre-proposals can be submitted until March 4th 2021.It is expected that consortia invited for the full-proposal stage, will need to submit their proposal on June 16th, 2021.

SAPHIRe workshop: access to health data

13 October 2020 – To gain a better understanding on the regional perspective on access to health data, SAPHIRe will host an online interactive workshop on Thursday 29th October 2020, 10h30-12h30 CET. ICPerMed Vision Paper

25 September 2019 – ICPerMed published a "Vision Paper" on how the use of personalised medicine approaches will promote "next-generation" medicine in 2030. The vision entails that medicine needs to become more firmly centred on the individual’s personal characteristics and at the same time be more effective and have an economic value. Next-generation medicine should also provide equitable access for all citizens to the best possible healthcare in the future.
