PerMedCoE: Exascale-ready cell-level simulations :

ERA PerMed Information Event JTC2021 :

11. January 2021 – ERA PerMed will organize an Information Event for potential applicants for the Joint Transnational Call 2021 “MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH PROJECTS ON PERSONALISED MEDICINE – DEVELOPMENT OF CLINICAL SUPPORT TOOLS FOR PERSONALISED MEDICINE IMPLEMENTATION”. The meeting will take place online on the 25th of January 2021, 13:00 to 14:30 (CET).

The Flemish government of Belgium joins ICPerMed :

4 January 2021 – ICPerMed welcomes the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation of the Flemish government (EWI Department) as its new member.

Fourth ERA PerMed Call for Proposals open :

15 December 2020 – The ERA-NET ERA PerMed has launched the fourth Joint Transnational Call for multidisciplinary research projects on Personalised Medicine. With this call ERA PerMed wants to align national research strategies, promote excellence, reinforce the competitiveness of European players in Personalised Medicine, and enhance the European collaboration with non-EU countries.

Healthcare organizational scenarios are changing rapidly, and this requires the re-design of the hospital processes through the adoption of new organizational models, specifically for the proactive management of chronic and fragile patients. The introduction of new services for patients and the use of Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence technologies are key elements to support the expected change.

Brazilian Agency CNPq joins ICPerMed :

13 November 2020 – ICPerMed welcomes CNPq as observer. CNPq is the largest Federal Research Funding Agency of Brazil, operating also via a partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Health which has recently started the Brazilian National Program of Genomic and Precision Health, Genomas Brasil.

SAPHIRe Workshop: Making data usable :

12 November 2020 – EU citizens have the right to access healthcare in any EU country and to be reimbursed for care abroad by their home country. To realise this right, the appropriate infrastructures and standards should be created. Regional providers of health data, such as (university or regional) hospitals, first line healthcare or genetic centres, collect massive amounts of health data. This creates a large need for interoperable and accessible data.

Best Practice Example: 2025 France Genomic Medicine Initiative :

3 November 2020 – Genomic medicine is profoundly changing patient care. Routine genome sequencing will enable a high number of patients to benefit from more personalised diagnostics and personalised therapeutic care. This includes rare diseases and cancer but also more common diseases (e.g. metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological diseases).

ICPerMed conference Personalised Medicine – programme released :

2 November 2020 – The preliminary programme for the ICPerMed conference "Personlised Medicine – From Vision to Practice" is now available. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the second ICPerMed Conference, initially scheduled for October 15-16, 2020, will now take place in February 25-26, 2021 in Paris at La Maison de la Chimie.

Update on European Partnership on Personalised Medicine :

2 November 2020 – In preparation of the European Commission’s member states consultation for the co-funded European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, taking place most probably at the end of 2020 or beginning of 2021, ICPerMed together with ERA PerMed developed a supporting document in form of a concept paper that was officially passed on to the European Commission on October 13, 2020.

New ICPerMed chair and vice chair elected :

2 November 2020 – ICPerMed is glad to announce that Ejner Moltzen from Innovation Fund Denmark has been elected new chair of the ICPerMed Executive Committee and Hemma Bauer from the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in Austria has been elected new vice chair of the ICPerMed Executive Committee.

COVID-19 and Personalised Medicine :

29 October 2020 – Professor Yazdan Yazdanpanah and his colleague Dr Olivier Robineau share with ICPerMed their first lessons learned on the health crisis and the contribution of personalised medicine approaches to fight infectious diseases through the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

4th Annual Meeting of the ÖPPM :

28 October 2020 – The 4th Annual Meeting of the ÖPPM 2020 will be guided by the main topic “Digitalization in Personalized Medicine” The webinar series will start on 20.10.2020 featuring international and national keynotes on societal and technological aspects.

Workshop: Ethical, Legal, Social Aspects of personalised Medicine :

28 October 2020 – On November 17 and 18, 2020 the ELSA technical Workshop takes place. The main goal is an exchange of insights on key ethical, legal and social issues in personalised medicine (PM) research and implementation in Europe and in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

Webinar Series on Personalised Medicine :

20 October 2020 – The Royal Society of Medicine in London organises a new webinar series on personalised medicine. The series starts on 20 October and explores the concept of personalised care and the role of digital technology in delivering these services. Recordings of each episode are available for all registered delegates to watch on demand for a month after each live broadcast.

Pre-Announcement JTC 2021 :

14 October 2020 – ERA-PerMed will launch its new call with a budget of approximately 16 million euros on December 14th 2020. Pre-proposals can be submitted until March 4th 2021.It is expected that consortia invited for the full-proposal stage, will need to submit their proposal on June 16th, 2021.

SAPHIRe workshop: access to health data :

13 October 2020 – To gain a better understanding on the regional perspective on access to health data, SAPHIRe will host an online interactive workshop on Thursday 29th October 2020, 10h30-12h30 CET. The workshop will discuss the access to health data from different points-of-view. Regional actors such as research institutions, hospitals, industry and individuals will be heard.

Joint Sustainability Workshop of ICPerMed and ERA PerMed :

14 October 2020 – On September 10-11, 2020, the first Joint Workshop of ICPerMed and the closely related initiative ERA PerMed took place. Members of both initiatives discussed options for continuing their work in the new framework programme of the European Commission “Horizon Europe” and in particular the potential European Partnership in Personalised Medicine.

ICPerMed Mapping Database

The ICPerMed database gives an overview on the actions in the field of Personalised Medicine performed in the ICPerMed member states and may assist interested users in finding suitable funding opportunities and information about potential funders in their respective country and/or region. The database allows the user to search for programmes susceptible to finance research projects in the field of personalised medicine.
