12 July 2024 – The International Consortium for Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed) has elected three new chairs. Étienne Richer (Canada, CIHR Institute of Genetics) will serve as chair, while Raili Sillart (Estonia, Ministry of Social Affairs) and Rizwana Mia (South African Medical Research Council) will serve as vice-chairs.
ICPerMed would like to thank its outgoing Chair, Ejner Moltzen, and Vice-Chairs, Hemma Bauer and Gianni D’Errico, for their outstanding work over the past years.
ICPerMed has also established two new working groups:
- A working group on policy, led by Astrid Vincente (Portugal, National Institute of Health Dr Ricardo Jorge)
- An internationalisation working group led by Monika Frenzel (France, Agence nationale de la recherche).
With the establishment of the European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, ICPerMed is now entering a new phase of development in which both organisations will work in close collaboration. Thereby ICPerMed and EP PerMed explore synergies on identifying suitable frameworks for personalised medicine research and implementation. While EP PerMed focuses on research funding, innovation building and implementation facilitating, ICPerMed provides political perspectives as well as learning from an international funders’ network in this partnership. To support this role, ICPerMed relies on the strong engagement of its members and on the activities developed by its internationalisation, and policy and strategy working groups.
